Brave Bev Ribaudo Prepares for Deep Brain Stimulation

Last week, I heard it through the Tweet-vine, that my funny friend Bev Ribaudo (who also has early onset Parkinson’s disease) was getting DBS: Deep brain stimulation. I won’t go into all the gory details, mostly because just thinking about this surgical procedure makes me queasy. But I will tell you it involves Doctors drilling holes in your brain — while you are wide awake! So I asked Bev, “How does one prepare for DBS?” Read her answer on her blog. Like Bev, it’s hilarious. So is her new book, Parkinson’s Humor.
