Today’s Pink Stroke of Genius: Saudi Women Take Fight Against Breast Cancer to Mount Everest

Every year, approximately 1.5 million women around the world are diagnosed with breast cancer. 8,000 of these women live in Saudi Arabia. In light of this, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan and the Zahra Breast Cancer Association recently launched a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention through adopting healthy lifestyle habits and staying physically active. Titled “A Woman’s Journey: Destination Mount Everest” the original plan involved just 10 Saudi women climbing to the Mount Everest base camp in May. But now the campaign is growing and women from all backgrounds (ages 25 to 50) are invited to make this climb between May 7-21, 2012. Intrigued? Feeling adventurous? Click here for more information.
