Ode to Mothers

Mothers are a special sort
loving is their favourite sport
they kiss your boo-boos, wipe your tears
they clean your room and clean your ears
they pack you lunches and bake you treats
they watch your life from front row seats
they always worry when you leave
they wear their heart upon their sleeve
a mother’s love is something fierce
no matter what you do or pierce
and when you’re grown — a man or lady
you’ll still be her little baby…
