Mattel Makes 10,000 “Bald Friend of Barbie” Dolls

Back in January, Mattel was bombarded by Facebook petitions and social media pressure to create Bald Barbie —  to support children dealing with hair loss due to illness or cancer treatment. Apparently, the campaign worked! Not only is Mattel cranking out 10,000 “Bald Friend of Barbie” dolls, MGA is hopping on the bald-bandwagon with bald “True Hope” Bratz and Moxie Girlz dolls, donating part proceeds to  cancer research at City of Hope. Proving sometimes art imitates strife.

    The power of social networks is revealed again. I honestly didn’t think Mattel would cave on this one. pretty awesome!
